Accumulation Project- Skeleton Keys

This project began at the start of this fall when I began collecting Skeleton Keys. I have kept a small key collection since I was about seven years old, however, I never worked on expanding the collection until I started this art project. I am interested in keys because i feel they have a very mysterious and powerful essence. After all, each key did unlock some safe, closet, jewelry box, door, or trunk somewhere, sometime in the past. Each key has a mate... or owner so to speak... and where that particular drawer or box is would be where that particular key belongs. The wadded up pieces of paper are notes which have the location to where each key belongs and a blurb about the instructions those keys are to follow.
I wanted the keys to seem like they were being held back by their responsibilities to unlock. This is why I have the notes hanging down ( similar to the ball and chain metaphor).
